How To Apply Vinyl

Our vinyl decal stickers can be applied to car and truck windows, doors, motorcycles, and most other smooth surfaces.

Each of our vinyl decals is made of high-performance, 2.5 mil calendared adhesive vinyl film, designed to last outdoors for 6+ years (4 years for metallic colors).

Decals are designed to to be applied to the OUTSIDE of your vehicle (window or door).

How to install vinyl lettering/decals

Vinyl lettering arrives to you pre-spaced on a paper liner. Installing your decal is 4 step process (see Installation tab above). First clean the smooth non-porous surface you are applying the vinyl lettering/decal to. Second, tape the vinyl decal along the top. Third, flip over the decal and slowly remove the paper backing. Rub the lettering/decal and carefully remove the transfer tape.

How vinyl lettering/decals are made

Our vinyl lettering/decals are cut on a computer driven commercial grade plotter. After the computer/cutter cut the vinyl lettering, we weed out any excess material and apply a transfer tape.

Choosing a color for your vinyl lettering/decal

Our vinyl lettering/decals do not have a background color. Whatever you place the lettering/decal on becomes the background. If you select red as the color, all of the wording and/or images will be red. Please note that we do not recommend black for tinted windows.

All orders are shipped by either USPS First Class or Priority Mail.

Please note that USPS is a third party company and not directly connected with Allstar Vinyl Signs. Actual delivery time is dependent upon carrier based circumstances and is not guaranteed by Allstar Vinyl Signs. All packages marked "Delivered" by the USPS will be considered delivered. We accept no responsibility for any lost or stolen packages after they are delivered by your local postal carrier.

We do not currently ship internationally. We do not ship COD or bill to third parties.

We encourage you to inspect your order immediately upon it's delivery. If a piece of your order is missing or incorrect, please contact us WITHIN 3 DAYS so that we may quickly correct the issue.

Are items returnable if I change my mind?

We are sorry, all items are custom made to order. No returns are accepted.

Your vinyl lettering arrives as a pre-spaced sheet of letters made up of three layers:

the top layer (or transfer tape)
the middle layer (the actual letters/decal)
the bottom layer (white backing paper)

Before applying your vinyl, we recommend allowing the lettering/decal to first come to room temperature.

What if I do not apply my vinyl right away?

We cut your vinyl lettering fresh after you place your order. Once you receive your order, we recommend applying the vinyl within one month. The longer vinyl sits, the harder it becomes to apply. The adhesive will eventually dry out if not applied to a surface. For best results, it is recommended you install within a few days of receipt.

If you are not ready to apply your letters right away, store them in a relatively cool, dry place in a plastic bag. Avoid extreme temperature changes. Do not fold or crease your lettering or get it wet.
